Six questions to Stephane Ascarateil, Ictyodev adjuvant technical specialist and commercial representative

What are character traits that represent you well?

I am positive and focused.

What in your past experience makes you one of the most knowledgeable adjuvant technical specialists?

I have more than 20 years of experience in the field of adjuvants for both human and animal vaccines, and I have successively taken over roles of immunology investigation, product development and international sales throughout my career.

Are adjuvants easy products to sell?

Selling adjuvants is challenging as they are highly technical products that require deep knowledge of veterinary immunology as well as an understanding of customer needs. In general, it takes two years before an new adjuvant is used by a vaccine manufacturer.

What does it mean for you to have a customer-centric approach?

My role is to be close to our customers by traveling around the world regularly with a focus on responding to their technical needs and expectations. We have a global approach so that I can stay focused on our customers’ needs and expectations from specific innovative adjuvant selection towards formulation, field application properties and troubleshooting.

What would be your advice to vaccine manufacturers in search of a new adjuvant?

Get in touch with me so we can define your needs and match it with one of our existing products or with a tailor-made one that we will develop!

What’s your totem animal?

Eagles. Indeed, I like to fly like eagles; my favourite hobby is paragliding. I take my wings wherever possible and I invite my customers to follow me 🙂
